Insomnia by Robin King

Robin King stitched this canvas called Insomnia. Here's the story behind the canvas: Several years ago Robin saw the original art by artist, Jeanju Clifton. New to needlepoint at that time, but with a strong feeling, Robin decided that the subject would translate great into the needlepoint world.

After several years of communicating with the artist and Maggie Co, Insomnia finally became a needlepoint canvas. Robin purchased the canvas, and submitted it to Amy Bunger for a Cook Up a Canvas class. The Custom Stitch Guide was written (now available for purchase), and Robin began stitching. She even learned how to knit with the specific need of creating the long scarf which drapes over and under the cats.

The fingers are wire wrapped, and Robin made the knitting needles from the size 0 needles. Insomnia has a real Pearl pierced earring, and has actual beauty parlor curlers in her hair.

We hope you enjoyed this story behind Insomnia. It is a wonderful piece to stitch and brings Robin great joy every day!
