Mama Camel / Nativity Home Study / Kit #12

"Kelly Clark named this design “Mama Camel” because there is a smaller camel in her design line that matches this piece. I decided not to stretch the Home Study beyond 12 pieces so I did not include the “Baby Camel." I believe you would have no problem designing a guide for the smaller camel especially after stitching the pieces in this class project.

"The Mama Camel and the Elephant were particularly fun to work. I didn’t feel the pressure to get the faces "just so" like on each of the people in the series. I could go over the top with the thread choices and composite stitches which I couldn’t do on the simple donkey and sheep. The little camel handler is darling, and looks oh, so comfortable, in the lotus position. My legs ache just to think about it!

"It has been fun to add many of the techniques that I have learned over the years, like the Overhand Braid and the Stumpwork padded bundle on the camel’s back. I am glad to have the opportunity to share these ideas with so many people. Thank you for joining me in working the Kelly Clark Nativity Home Study Program." Amy
