Marnie Ritter, long time nationally recognized teacher/designer/ artist has written 3 "Canvas Patterns" books.

Each page/stitch has a reference to the project the stitch is in. Each book contains composite stitches, combination stitches, and stitches with beads. You need these in your library.

In the third of her canvas pattern books, Marnie continues creating composite stitch patterns to build upon.  Included are thread and color suggestions for many of the patterns.  Marnie also leads the way to embracing an "Open Canvas Philosophy," which allows the pattern to show off more.
